Trending Apps for Small Business Owners

There are thousands, if not millions, of apps available in the world! While some apps like Candy Crush are used for recreation, there are a wide variety of apps that are used by small business owners. Through running a small business, I’ve used several apps to help make the most of my time; however, I’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg when it comes to apps. Here are some of the apps that are trending right now:

SelfControl

Ever feel like you wish you had a restraint on yourself? This is the app for all you people out there that can’t stop getting distracted. SelfControl is an app that can be used to block you from visiting certain sites for a designated period of time. For example, if you’re working on a huge project for a client that needs to get done, but you keep getting distracted by Facebook or Twitter, you can use SelfControl to block Facebook and Twitter until you’ve completed your task. You won’t even be able to access the sites that you block if you restart your computer. Of course, this app isn’t only beneficial to small businesses. If you just have a lot on your plate, Self Control could help you to get more done. The best part is that this app is free!

Expensify

Expensify allows you to easily and conveniently keep track of all of your business expenses. You can link your debit or credit card to your Expensify account, or you can take pictures of your receipts. Expensify automatically sorts through the important information to help you generate an expenses report within minutes. The app only costs $5 a month and can be used for companies with up to 10077_Dropbox-logo.jpeg0 people.

Dropbox

You might already be familiar with Dropbox, but Dropbox is actually a great tool for small businesses. Dropbox is basically a file sharing service which allows you to easily share information with other people. You can start with a basic account for free, which comes with limited storage, or you can purchase the Pro plan for $8.25. If you’re not sure what plan will work best for your business, you can even request a free trial of the Pro plan.

MailChimp

If you run a small business, it’s likely that you deal with a lot of emails. MailChimp helps you to manage your emails and allows you to build customized mailing lists. You can also create email templates to save for later use. If you have 2000 subscribers, you can use MailChimp for free to send up to 12,000 emails each month.

Trello

Trello is a management app for small business teams that will keep track of all your project tasks in one place. The Trello workplace is like a hub where all of the team members can collaborate and stay in good communication. This app is free for personal use on iOS and Android devices and has Google Drive and other third-party extension integration.
